Introduction to Unit G324: Advanced Portfolio - Video Task Shot List
This work relates to Assessment Objective 3.
In order to tell this story we will need to use editing. To begin we will use an establishing shot, this will be of college, as this is where the scene takes place. The establishing shot is there to establish the geographic location. After this we will use a master shot of Person A and Person B, this will show the two people walking towards each other, it is in this shot that the viewer will also see Person A drop their wallet/purse. We will use this master shot to introduce the characters to the viewer.
Then we will use a close up of the wallet/purse. We will then cut to a shot of Person B noticing the wallet/purse and the viewer will see thier reaction to the dropped object, and then cut to a shot of a close up of the wallet/purse again. By doing this, it makes it clear to the viewer that Person B has seen the wallet/purse and is contemplating picking it up, however it is still unclear as to whether they will return it or not.
We will then use an insert shot to see a hand hesitate, then pick the wallet/purse up. The camera will follow up Person B's arm, it will then slowly zoom out to a medium close up of Person A and Person B talking. We see a medium shot of person B holdin out the wallet to Person A. When Person B returns the wallet/purse back to Person A the viewer will be able to see Person A's reaction and them thanking Person B. Then a close up shot of Person A's reaction.
